Bronchogen is a short peptide from the Khavinson family of tissue-directed 'bioregulators', proposed to influence gene expression and protein-synthesis signalling in respiratory-tissue cells. The concept under study is that organ-specific peptides may help maintain normal lung-cell activity, but supporting data are largely preclinical and mechanistic. Its relevance to human respiratory ageing remains unproven.
