Delta Sleep (delta sleep-inducing peptide, DSIP) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide whose mechanism is not fully characterised. It has been associated in research with modulation of neurotransmitter systems relevant to slow-wave (delta) sleep onset and maintenance, and with neuroendocrine and circadian signalling that may influence the stress response. The evidence base in humans is very limited and largely exploratory.
